Alice Farley Dawson, 71, Hamilton, MO., passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, in her home in Hamilton, Missouri.

Alice was born on November 22, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth R. Farley and Betty Lou (Tanner) Farley.  She is the oldest of ten children.  Alice grew up in Holladay, Utah.  She and her family enjoyed everything outdoors.  She told stories of sitting on the bank, untangling fishing line for her father.  Her favorite time of year was winter when it snowed.  Alice also loved flowers.  Each year for Mother's Day she wanted flowers planted in her flower beds.  She loved to sew.  She sewed many quilts for all of her children including many homemade Christmas gifts and crocheted Christmas stockings for all her children.  Alice loved to draw and was very good at arts and crafts.  She loved everyone and was never heard to have said anything negative about others.

Alice graduated from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City.  She attended the University of Utah between 1971-1973 and studied home and family life.  Alice was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she was a homemaker par excellence. Alice enjoyed doing family history.  While working at the family history center in Salt Lake City, on her last day of work, she met Ernie Dawson.  She and Ernie were married on May 4, 1973, in the Salt Lake City Temple, and they were happily married for 50 years.

Alice and Ernie had 14 biological children.  She always wanted a large family and made that wish come true.  After her marriage, military life took her to many places, including Turkey, Germany, and England.  No matter where she lived, she always created a loving home for her family.

Preceding Alice in death were her parents, two siblings-Carolyn Farley and Joseph Farley (wife Jackie), and her eldest daughter-Mary Anne Phillips (husband Mike).

Alice is survived by her husband Ernie, and children-John Dawson (wife Julie), Sarah Wright (husband Ryan), James Dawson, Joseph Dawson (wife Kristen), Rebecca Leckbee (husband Steve), Michael Dawson (wife Shelley), Stephen Dawson (wife Olivia), Elizabeth Hardin (husband Ian), Benjamin Dawson (wife Anastasia), Joanna Dawson, Samuel Dawson (wife Rachel), Nephi Dawson and Leah Larsen (husband Connor); 47 grandchildren; and siblings-Richard Farley (wife Denise), Steven Farley (wife Terri), Robert Farley (wife Kim), Diane Bruderer (husband Reed), Marilyn Moss (husband Dennis), Suzanne Anderson (husband Brian), and Douglas Farley (wife Becky).

Funeral Service:  10 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2024, at The Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cameron, MO.

Formal Visitation:  9 to 10 a.m., Monday, January 8, at the church---just prior to the service.

Interment:  The Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, MO.
