C.H. Houghton, Jr., 94, Polo, Mo., passed away at his home in Polo on Sunday, August 14, 2016.

C.H. was born on January 20, 1922, in Mirabile, Mo., to C.H. and Jennie McNary Houghton. He had graduated from the Mirabile High School.
He had been a farmer and had been committed to developing the potential of young people in agriculture programs such as 4-H and FFA.

He married Lena Alice Carter on May 2, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo. She preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded by his parents; son-Dr. Tom Houghton; infant son-Danny; one brother and sisters.

Survivors: Son, Jerry (Jane) Houghton, Lamar, Mo.; Daughter-in-law, Debbie Houghton, Lakeland, Florida; Daughter, Yvonne (Glenn) Ridder, Marthasville, Mo.; Daughter, Connie (David) Fleming, Lakeland, Florida; Son, Dean (Jerilyn) Houghton, Polo, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation was entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, Mo.

Family and friends are invited to the Shelter House at the Polo Stagecoach Park, south of Polo, Mo., on Saturday, August 20, from 2 to 4 p.m., to visit with the family.
