Carl "Cap" Ben Johnson, 85, of Cameron, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Carl was born on December 30, 1928, in Osborn, Mo., to Ben and Elsie (Doak) Johnson.

Carl was a 1944 graduate of Stewartsville High School.  He was passionate about his politics, a proud WWII & Korean veteran, successful builder, and collector of taxes for Clinton County.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia (Thompson); sons, Craig and Wade; three sisters, Evelyn Campbell, Dorothy Bowers, and Annabel Beckett; three brothers, Melvin, Darrell, and Dean Johnson.

Survivors:  two daughters, Susan Hammontree and Dianne Marines; son, Leif (JohnBoy) Johnson, all of Cameron; sister, Vera Jones, Boulder, Co.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandkids.

Services:  Saturday, March 29, 2014, with Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., and Service at 2 p.m., at the Brown Funeral Home, Cameron.

Burial:  Osborn Evergreen Cemetery, Osborn, Mo.

Memorial Fund:  Children's Mercy Hospital.
