Obituary

Coleta Faye Blackburn went to the Kingdom of God to be reunited with family and friends on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 4:10 p.m.

Coleta was born near Gould Farm, MO on August 14, 1915 to Phyllis Anne Ennis Crist and William Franklin Crist.  She married Doctor Hugh "Sweet" Blackburn in 1933.  They moved to Hamilton in 1951 where she lived the rest of her life.

They have four surviving children, Emma Pearle Green residing in Hamilton, Patricia Ann Kipp residing in Kingston, John Richard Blackburn residing in Excelsior Springs, and Kenneth Ray Blackburn residing in Springfield.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandchild.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Coleta was a woman of faith.  She never met a stranger and equally and deeply cared for all of God's children.  She had a great zest for life and laughter.  She will be sorely missed by family and friends.  She was a wonderful example of a life well lived.

It has been decided for the safety and concerns of others to hold a graveside service at Kingston Cemetery at 2 p.m., on Friday, November 13, for family members only.  The family requests all attending please wear a mask.  Others are encouraged to stop and pay their respects at their convenience at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Thursday, November 12, from 9 a.m., until 5 p.m.
