Excelsior Springs

Obituary

Daryl Lloyd Webster, 72, Excelsior Springs, MO., let go of his loving wife's hand and entered his heavenly home to join his family and friends on Sunday, May 21, 2023.  He was a very kind, gentle man.  Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will take place at Orrick Christian Church on Monday, June 12th, at 11 a.m.

Daryl was born the second of four sons to Lloyd M. and Geraldine E. (Roth) Webster in Cass City, Michigan, on July 19, 1950.  He lived in Saginaw for most of his younger years.  The family moved to Owosso, Michigan, when Daryl was 12.  Daryl graduated with the Owosso High School Class of 1968.

After graduation he earned a degree in Theology from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois, and then went to Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO.  After graduation he worked for many years at the Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, MO.

In 2008, he met the love of his life, Penny Teig, and they married August 1, 2009.  God blessed them with almost 14 wonderful years together.  They loved traveling, and especially looked forward to their trips to Michigan to see family.  Daryl loved visiting many lighthouses every year in their travels.

Daryl was an avid donor to Kansas City Community Blood Center.  Daryl donated over 27 gallons of blood during his 217 visits.

He loved many types of music, including Jazz, Rock, Big Band, Top 40, Rhythm and Blues, and Gospel.

Daryl especially LOVED being a Grandpa.  He had the magic touch in calming babies and putting them to sleep.  He and Penny attended all school programs, sporting events, music concerts and recitals they were involved in.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; step-daughters Justeen (Chris) Ruggles, Excelsior Springs, MO., and Charisma (Jeff) Alfrey, Marshall, MO; Grandsons Henry, Levi, Theodore, Lincoln, Haygen and Luke; Brothers Lynn (Diana), Owosso, MI.; Gale, Lakeland, FL.; Kevin (Diane), Williamston, MI.; Daughter Pamela Whitney, Washington; Son Daniel Webster, Kansas City, MO.; as well as several cousins and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Daryl requested that in lieu of flowers any memorials be given to the family, with checks being made out to Justeen Ruggles, 24626 NE 124th Street, Excelsior Springs, MO. 64024.  All donations will go to the Northwest Missouri Steam and Gas Engine Association.  Daryl loved attending the Steam Engine show every years.  We have hopes to build Moss Pavilion South with all of the donations.
