Evelyn Ruby Shaney, 85, Hamilton, Mo., formerly of Nettleton, Mo., passed away on January 20, 2016, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.

Evelyn was born on November 1, 1930, in Ludlow, Mo., the only child to William "Bill" and Ruby Leighty Parks. She graduated from the Waverly, Mo., high school. She worked until retirement as a tax preparer and bookkeeper.

Her father, Bill, later married Rosetta Frakef, and to this union two sons were born, brothers of Evelyn-William (Billy) Parks, Waverly, Mo., (wife-Ruth Ann, who is deceased), and James (Joan) Parks, Concordia, Mo.

Her mother, Ruby, later married Jay C. Davis and to this union three children were born, siblings to Evelyn- Arnold (Oleta) Davis, Hamilton; Barbara (Larry) Flinn, Phelan, CA.; and Betty (Ray) Dunscombe, Hamilton.

Evelyn is also survived by a step-son, Ronald (Shiela) Shaney, of Kenesaw, NE; and grandchildren-Tim Shaney, Heather (Bob) Gettner, and James Shaney; and nieces and nephews-Sharry (Matt) Thorp, Gary Parks-deceased, David (Brenda) Parks, Bryan (Cindy) Parks, Kris (Jason) Shilt, Jess (Lora) Davis, Norman (Melissa) Flinn, and Roger Wilson, Jr.

Evelyn was married to Arthur Shaney on January 2, 1949, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and an infant son that died at birth on November 29, 1950.

The body has been cremated under the care of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.

A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 4 p.m., at the New York Cemetery, SE of Hamilton.
