George was born on December 8, 1939, in Amazonia, MO., to George Wesley Thornton, Sr., and Gertrude (Lueger) Thornton. He grew up in Kidder, MO., and graduated from the Kidder High School in 1957. He also loved to visit Dino's Diner in Cameron, MO., for an early breakfast and friendly conversation with the waitresses there. George was an extremely generous man, and he touched many lives in his 84 years. He will be deeply missed.
