Hazel Dorothy Prather, 95, Hamilton, Mo., passed away on September 20, 2018, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.  She previously lived in the state of Iowa and in numerous locations around the country due to her husband's profession.

Hazel was born on August 2, 1923, in Greenville, Iowa, to Hans Christian and Vara Elizabeth (Skewis) Peterson. She was a homemaker, and worked in the past as a bookkeeper at a bank and as the head of the dietary department at a nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband-John Owen Prather; and two brothers-Jay and Bill Peterson.

Survivors:  Three sons-James Prather, Larry Prather, and David (Christy) Prather, all of Hamilton; 3 grandchildren-Amy Davidson, and Keagan and Morgan Prather; one great-grandchild-Adella Davidson; and two sisters-Jean Schuler, Des Moines, Iowa, and Inie Hess, Storm Lake, Iowa.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, Mo.
