Joan Ruth (Connor) Baker, 88, Independence, MO, passed away on July 19, 2021, at the Rosewood Health & Rahab. Center in Independence.  She previously lived in Kansas City and Hamilton, MO.

Joan was born on August 16, 1932, in Nettleton, MO, to Leo and Ina (Shaney) Connor.  She graduated from the Hamilton High School.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Washington United Methodist Church in Independence.

She married Vernon Dale Baker on November 26, 1950.  He preceded her in death.  Also preceding Joan in death were her parents; brothers-John, Leo Jr., Paul and Ralph; and sister-Mary Lunczewski.

Survivors:  Children-Katherine (Chuck) Canfield, Lee's Summit, MO; and David (Anna) Baker, Independence; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous cousins.

Funeral Service:  11 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.

Visitation:  1 hour prior to the service, 10 to 11 a.m., at Bram Funeral Home on Aug. 2.

Interment:  The New York Cemetery, SE of Hamilton.
