Leta May (Webb) Richardson was born near Denver, Colorado on April 4, 1932, to Everett Harold and Ethel Jane (Maddaford) Webb.  Shortly after her mother died, when Leta was 12 years old, she and her sister Irma moved to Flat River, MO, to live with their Aunt Amy and Uncle Rolla Smith.  Irma returned to Colorado, while Leta finished junior college.  She worked as a secretary at the college for several years.  She was a member of the Church of Christ her entire life, and held a very strong faith.

While in Colorado visiting, she met Joe Porter Richardson in a church there, and knew that they were meant for each other.  They were married the next year on March 21, 1964, in Flat River, MO.  They lived in Rolla for a few years, then moved to the farm in Hamilton, MO where they lived for 47 years.  During that time they raised 3 children, Dan, Dale and Elaine.  They enjoyed traveling together, never missing a 2 week vacation in Colorado each summer.  After the kids had left home they extended their travels to include land trips overseas and cruises.

When Joe died in 2011, she moved away from the farm, staying with Elaine and her husband Richard during the summers and holiday season, and with Dan and his wife Emily in Florida during the school year.  She even went on 2 more cruises.  She moved into Homestead of Olathe, an assisted living facility near Elaine and Dale, in May of 2021, and passed away August 27, 2021, at 89.  She is survived by her children, and all of their families.  She was preceded by her sister, Irma (Webb) Jones.
