Maurice E. Houghton, 94, Kingston, MO, passed away on May 27, 2019, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton. He was a life-long Caldwell County, MO, resident.

Maurice was born on December 31, 1924, in Kingston, MO, at home to Albert and Linnie (Stone) Houghton.  He was a 1942 graduate of the Kingston High School.  He served his country in the Army during World War II for 9 months. Maurice was a farmer and served as the Presiding Judge (Presiding Commissioner) of Caldwell County for 9 years serving from 1978-1986.

He served in the past as the President of the Kingston School Board, and was a Charter Member of the Kingston Nazarene Church which was established in 1956.

On January 24, 1946, he married Ruth Evelyn Hill in Kansas City, Mo.  She preceded him in death in 2004.  He was also preceded by his parents; Son-Rodney Houghton; 4 sisters-Kathryn, Elizabeth, Virginia, and Louise; and brother-Marion.

Survivors:  Daughter-L. Diane (Keith) Rodwell, Summerville, SC; Son-Kent Houghton, Kingston; 3 grandchildren-Rodney (Rebecca) Houghton, Curtis (Misty) Houghton, and Shelby Houghton; 5 great-grandchildren-Alexandra Houghton, Anisten Houghton, Isaac Houghton, Abram Houghton, and Sara Houghton; sister-Martha Rains, Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service:  2 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Kingston Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation:  Thursday, May 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the church.

Interment:  The Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Mo.

Memorials:  The Kingston Church of the Nazarene.
