Mildred Viola Gilbert, 88, Hamilton, MO, passed away on June 28, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospital North, Kansas City, MO.

Mildred was born on April 26, 1931, in Gallatin, MO, to Lloyd and Opal (Stephens) Bennett.  She worked at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton until its closure, and then Mildred went to work for the Hamilton R-II school district for many years.  Mildred was also a homemaker.  She was an active member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering in the church's thrift store.

On February 11, 1951, she married Marvin Gilbert in Gallatin.  He preceded her in death in 1978.  She was also preceded by her parents; twin sons-Floyd and Lloyd; daughter-Marcella "Marcy" Darr; brothers-Walter Stephens, and Allen and Charles Bennett; and sister-Nancy Bigley; and an infant brother.

Survivors:  Sons-Marvin (Regina) Gilbert, Sugar Creek, MO; and Joe Gilbert, Florence, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Brother-James Bennett, South Carolina; and Sister-Shirley (Richard) Youngs, Cameron, MO.

Cremation was entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.

Memorial Service:  2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, at the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Family Life Center.

Inurnment:  Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
