Rowena I. Thompson, 91, Hamilton, Missouri, passed away on December 17, 2012, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, in Hamilton.

Rowena was born on May 8, 1921, in Mooresville, Missouri, to Jacob Ernest and Nellie LaRue Gaunt Walz. She was a 1938 graduate of the Mooresville, Missouri, high school. She had been a homemaker, mother, and had worked for 15 years at the Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton. She was a member of the Highland Church, Breckenridge.

Rowena married Fate Heritage Thompson on November 23, 1938, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded by her parents; and her brother, Russell Walz.

Survivors: Children: Gary Thompson, Mt. Vernon, Washington; Sharon Mills, Cowgill, Missouri; Scott Thompson, Mt. Vernon, Washington; Randy Thompson, Hamilton; William Thompson, Louisville, Kentucky; Pam Ruby, Cypress, Texas; and Joyce Thompson, Manhattan, Kansas; 13 grandchildren: and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service: 2 p.m., Friday, December 21, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Visitation: 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 1 to 2 p.m.
Interment: The Mooresville Cemetery, Mooresville, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Three Rivers Hospice of Cameron.
