Sheila May Mead

Sheila May (Wright) Mead, 81, Gallatin, MO, passed away on October 9, 2026, at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gallatin.  Sheila lived in Gallatin for many years and previously lived in Kentucky.

Sheila was born on June 1, 1945, in Clearfield, Kentucky, to Henry Curtis and Lena Pearl (Perkins) Wright.  She married James L. Mead in Ashland, Kentucky, on November 26, 1970.  Before moving to Gallatin, she cleaned many homes for people.  Upon moving to Gallatin, Sheila worked for a department store and was a custodian for the Gallatin Christian Church.  She also assisted her husband, Jim, in his tax and real estate business.  Sheila loved to sew, making her own clothes and going to garage sales always looking for a bargain.  

In her spare time she loved to be outdoors and enjoyed gardening.

Sheila was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Survivors include her siblings-Linda Ann Middleton, David Michael Wright, Lonzie Curtis Wright and Venton Dee Wright, all of Morehead, Kentucky; her nephew-Mike (Teri) Mead, St. Joseph, MO., and many numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Sheila's request was to be cremated and have no formal funeral services.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

Cremation and arrangements have been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.
