Obituary

Verla Mae Linard, 91, of Cameron, MO., passed away on September 10, 2023, at the Daviess County Nursing & Rehab. Center in Gallatin, MO.

Verla was born on April 23, 1932, to Raymond and Pearl Mynatt in Willard, OK.  Around the age of 7, Verla's family packed up and moved to Missouri due to the hardships of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl.  They lived in Clarksburg, MO., several years then moving to near Butler, MO., when Verla was around 14.  She started high school in Butler and she met her future husband, Harvey Linard, on the school bus!

Verla graduated in 1950 from the Butler High School.  She married Harvey Linard on February 9, 1952, and they eventually settled in Kansas City, MO.

Having six children, Verla was a stay-at-home mom and housewife.

Verla loved her family, she loved family get-togethers, family and friend vacations, and going out dancing with Harvey and friends.  She also really enjoyed holidays, reading, crocheting and watching Westerns on television.

She said she thought her greatest accomplishments were raising her children and taking care of her husband until his death in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons-Gary and Alan Linard, granddaughter-Kellie, great-grandson-Kayden, great-granddaughter-Kelsey, great-great-granddaughter-River, and two younger brothers-Bernard and David Mynatt.

Verla is survived by older brother Vern Mynatt, El Paso, TX., children-Carol (Ed) Bailey, Kansas City, MO.. Denis (Mae) Linard, Purdin, MO., Meri Jo Burdick, Cameron, MO., and Cathy (Matt) Malone, Hamilton; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Her advice she wanted to give is to be honest, be sincere, and love one another.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
